The jailer in Philippi was a honorable man. By keeping guard over the prison, he regularly put himself in harm’s way to help keep the city safe. But when two prisoners named Paul and Silas were brought to his prison the jailer realized that he had been imprisoned by his sense of honor. In Jesus he would find honor that could never be stripped away from him and his life would be changed forever.
