Our Story

At this point our church is in its infancy. We have yet to really see what we will look like as a mature, growing, and missional church in the Tri-Cities area. Our story at this point is more about the DNA that will shape our future.

15_Missional.jpgIn autumn of 2009 a team of fifteen missional individuals began meeting monthly to pray and dream about helping start a new Christ-centered church that would welcome both believers and unbelievers. We envisioned meeting in small groups in our neighborhoods to develop deep relationships with one another and reach out to make new friendships with our neighbors. We dreamt about a church that offered reverent worship to God that was also relevant to ordinary people. We dreamt of a place where unbelievers could learn about about the Gospel in a thoughtful and respectful way and believers could learn to grow deeper in their faith, knowledge, and love for the same Gospel.

Beginning_Service.jpgWith the support of a generous mother church, kingdom minded supporters, visionary partners, and missional individuals we held our first service on April 4, 2010 (Easter) at 5:00pm in the Warm Springs Community Center. After three evening services in Warm Springs we began praying for a location where we could begin holding regular morning services. On May 16, 2010 we held our first regular worship service at 10:00am in the Silliman Activity Center in Newark. Supporters from our mother church in San Jose and from various churches in the Bay Area were in attendance to help us celebrate what God was beginning.

On June 6, 2010 we began opening our services to the public. Come visit us and help us write the next chapter in the story of our church!
